605 Strategies, formerly GSG Strategies, is a Government Affairs firm based in Pierre, South Dakota that has been delivering results since 2012.
LOBBYING
The firm's founding members, Jason Glodt and Rob Skjonsberg, have over 40 years of combined lobbying experience and campaign management.
CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT
Glodt and Skjonsberg have managed over 200 campaigns at every level, from precinct committee races to campaigns for Governor and U.S. Senate. They have also managed numerous ballot question committee campaigns. Nobody in South Dakota has more experience running campaigns in the state.

Rob Skjonsberg (Shawns-burg) is a co-owner of GSG Strategies, specializing in state government relations, policy, strategic communications and campaign consulting. Skjonsberg has previously served as the chief of staff in both (South Dakota) state government and the U.S. Senate. Skjonsberg has helped guide several statewide campaign victories, including Mike Rounds’ historic gubernatorial victory in 2002 as well as his re-election bid in 2006. Skjonsberg managed Rounds’ successful U.S. Senate campaigns, in 2014 and 2020.
Skjonsberg served on the Board of Economic Advisors under Governor Bill Janklow and was appointed to the South Dakota Board of Economic Development by Governor Dennis Daugaard. A graduate of South Dakota State University with a degree in economics, Skjonsberg has also worked in the private sector in banking, insurance and the renewable fuels industry.
Skjonsberg has served on multiple boards and commissions, is a past delegate to the state and National Republican conventions, and is the current chairman of the Stanley County Republican Party.
Skjonsberg is originally from Roberts County, SD and is a descendant of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. He and his family reside in Ft. Pierre, SD and operate a cow-calf operation in Jones and Stanley Counties.
Jason Glodt (Glote) has over 24 years of legal experience working in South Dakota. He served as an Assistant Attorney General for Attorneys Generals Mark Barnett and Larry Long and Marty Jackley. Working in the Appellate Division, Jason has won a dozen South Dakota Supreme Court cases. He also worked in the Litigation Division as a drug prosecutor and litigated overweight vehicle cases. In addition, Jason served as the director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Jason has also served as a Senior Advisor, lobbyist, and lawyer for Governors Rounds and Daugaard. His areas of expertise included agriculture, energy policy, transportation, environmental regulation, and Game, Fish, and Parks policy.
Jason also has a background in campaign management. He was the Executive Director of the South Dakota Republican Party from 2003 to 2004 and has worked on over 200 local, state, and federal campaigns over the past 25 years, including Rounds for Governor, Daugaard for Governor, and Rounds for Senate. He has also successfully managed initiated measure and constitutional amendment campaigns. In 2013, the magazine Campaigns & Elections listed Jason Glodt on their Influencers 500 list of top political consultants in America.
In 1995, Governor Bill Janklow appointed Jason to serve as a member of the South Dakota Board of Regents and subsequently re-appointed him. Jason was elected as a Pierre City Commissioner in 2003 and re-elected in 2006. Jason is an Eagle Scout and was selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young South Dakotans in 2004. He volunteers with several community service groups and is a past president of the Pierre Exchange Club and Masonic Lodge. He also served as the Scoutmaster for Troop 27 in Pierre.
Jason is a life-long 5th generation South Dakotan who grew up in Webster and Wessington Springs before moving to Spearfish where he graduated high school. He went on to earn a B.S. degree in Political Science from Black Hills State University before earning his Juris Doctorate degree in Law from The University of South Dakota School of Law .
Jason and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Carson and Allison. His hobbies include pheasant hunting, downhill skiing, and renovating historic buildings.
